You don’t have to have
everything figured out.
You just have to show up.
If you've been locked up and you're out now or getting ready to come home, this program is for you. We provide a community of mentors who have been where you are, offering financial literacy, career support, and a direct bridge to college and career pathways. This is your time to build what’s next.
Student Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about joining the Youth Reintegration Academy. We are here to support your journey home with real resources and a community that believes in your future.
What is Youth RA?
We are a free reentry program for young people ages 18–24 in Los Angeles County. Our mission is to help you successfully transition back into community through education, mentorship, and career pathway support.
What happens at camp?
Expect real conversations about money, goal-setting, and emotional awareness. These 3-day residential camps are led by staff who are familiar with the system and know what you are likely facing.
What do I receive?
Every participant receives a free laptop, a financial stipend, a program certificate, and a network of connections. Plus, you'll have a mentor you can contact at anytime.
College Pathways
We bridge you to the world of higher education. From Rising Scholars (Community College) to Project Rebound (CSU) and Underground Scholars (UC), these doors are open and ready for you.
Trade & Career Paths
College isn't for everyone, and that's okay. We provide support for entering vocational trades and connect you with resources to jumpstart a career that pays a living wage.
What happens after?
We don't disappear once camp ends. Staff stay in contact through monthly check-ins, and you become part of an alumni network with leadership opportunities and retreats.

then support the student.”
